Trailhead Trail 1W07

Arrived at the trail head at 5:30am in the dark, started the hike officially at 6am. The weather was chilly, but once the blood started flowing uphill, we warmed up quickly. First leg of switchbacks was gradual, with great views to the West and Big Bear. The second leg of the hike was nice and even across the ridge, and the weather was perfect. Finished the third section with more, gradual switchbacks and reached the top at 11:15 am. The views from the “stone bench” vantage point before Washington’s Monument and from the peak were amazing! We enjoyed a leisurely lunch and then started our downhill journey at 12:15 pm, reaching the cars at about 3:30 pm. This was my favorite hike of all six peaks, and not just because it was the last one. The trail was in great condition, the nice weather really helped, and there were just enough people on the trail so that it didn’t feel crowded or too empty. So glad we finished the Six Pack with this one!
