I have hiked San Jacinto more times than I have kept track of starting in May 1999. This time I took someone special with me who had never been to the summit, or in fact done any other hiking in the area except Taquitz. We opted to start at the Tram station as that would be a gentler introduction into hiking San Jacinto more regularly in the future with this person (I prefer the Devil’s Slide route personally). It was a beautiful day, not too hot but nice and sunny. We had a great time chilling at the top away from the usual summit madness. A friendly glider flying around buzzed us one time – it was fun to watch!
