Trailhead Seven Pines

This hike had the perfect conditions. There had been a large thunderstorm up there the previous day, so the streams were full though the trail was washed out for the first 3 miles. The trail was still easily visible though, because the wash-out consistently followed the trail. We did not see any cars at the trailhead, nor a single person on the 7-pines trail. Beautiful views and several great places in the sun for snacking an just taking it all in. The temp was about 55 when we started at 7:30 and didn’t get above 70 even at the Tram. We took the Seven Pines trail up to meet Deer Creek, then took that up through Little Round Valley and to the peak. After lunch we came down via Wellman Divide, Round Valley, and Long Valley, then took the tram down. Still a 12-mile hike with ~4500′ ascent. We were concerned about the probability of t-storm, but it never materialized.
