I really like this mountain (EDIT: I went back on 8/26 and this San J again, but from Idyllwild using Marion Moutain trail). Got up at 2:30 am to drive from the Ocean to Palm Springs and make the first tram up. No regrets, hiking is still hard but the benefits outweigh the investment. I love to be on mountains.
