San Gorgonio gear shakedown overniter

With a full week Sierra backpacking trip just a month away, it was time to get out and do an overnite gear shakedown. So my wife and I, along with Plan & Go Hiking Book publisher Kevin Mueschter, headed up to spend the night at High Creek Camp. Great weather, cool temps, and non-weekend crowds on a Friday made for a great hike. Spent the night, shook down all the gear, then got up at 4:30 am on Saturday for an early breakfast/coffee and a 5:30 departure to the summit. Left our gear in camp and summited with light day packs at 8 am. No one up there but us – perfect weather! Gear was all perfect and we are ready for the North Lake South Lake Loop in August!
