Finished Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge with Yesenia by summiting Mt. San Bernardino today (5/4/17). This was our hike #6 out of 6. Very hot day on the trails. I was wearing only one base layer and was dying in it. Colder temperatures never materialized, even at the summit. From 6k to 9,200 ft there was no snow on the trail so we were moving very fast, but then from 9,200 ft to the summit of 10,800 ft the trail was covered in snow so we had to go straight up the switchbacks. Fun, fun… Crampons, or at the very least, microspikes were needed. Ice axe, while not necessary, could be useful. It was a long day overall. I’m just happy that we finally finished this challenge. #sixpackofpeaks #SanBernardino
