Started a bit after 5am. Cloud cover most of the day was great. A tiny bit of sprinkles towards the end and a downpour once we got back to our cars, which was really great. Well maintained trail. Switchbacks made it seem like we were hardly climbing uphill. The Oaks Restaurant just an 1/8 of a mile or less after making a right on hiway 38 from Mazanita was a fabulous treat. Homemade soup and a grilled cheese. They had homemade pie too, but we were too full. Great hike, great day with my new Six Pack friend, Audra.
