Trailhead Angelus Oaks

Here are a few pictures from yesterday’s hike to San Bernardino peak via Angelus oaks trailhead.. I hiked with my buddy, and somewhat of a newcomer to hiking, that did really well for this being her 5th mountain hike ever. We hiked 16.5 miles with an elevation gain of just over 5,000 ft in 9 hours ( minus the 1/2 hour break at the peak). We saw a few coyotes as well as a very aggressive rattlesnake at mile six. It appears the snake had a den right under the rocky part of the trail so she wasn’t leaving without a little encouragement . She hissed and rattled before eventually going back into her den. This is #4 of my six-pack of peaks. Next adventure: #5 San Jacinto this Saturday
