One of my goals for 2017 was to complete the Six Pack of Peaks Challenge. Monday I bagged Gorgonio. I have one more to go. . . My friend commented the other day that a summit picture only shows one’s joy at the top and not the story of the journey. These hikes have been fun, I have seen beautiful places that many will never get to, I have had amazing conversations, I have danced with my poles in the air, I have sang my heart out, I have been scared, I have been motivated, I have fought my demons, I have overcame my demons, I have relived my life story– all my traumas–all my triumphs– all my pain– all my joy– all of it, I have lost hope, I have heard the voices of my tribe cheering me on, and most of all I have learned my own strength, my sheer determination and that my body can do what I once thought was impossible for that I am grateful today and everyday.
