Off to a great start. Weather predicted a 30 – 40% chance of rain for a few hours… more like 100% for about 6 hours. But who doesn’t like a challenge. Reaching the peak was pretty anti-climatic with the fog cover but all together, no complaints.
Awesome Chad!!! Dang, 4 days ago forecast called for sunny skies… was planning on hitting San Jack cause I thought today would be sunny & clear… but when I woke up at around 4:00am to prepare I felt an uneasiness about the local mountain weather… Wow.. you experienced rain at about 5.700’… just imagine at 10,000+.. Anyway, overall you are AWESOME to summit in these conditions!!!
I had a similar experience one time hiking up Santiago Peak — completely covered in thick fog. Kind of a bummer, but still had a great time.
