Our journey started at 11:00am ( yes!, a bit too late) from Mt Baldy Rd. With smiles and giggles we ascended thinking that our first peak would be within 10 miles in and out. We were amazed of the views and quickly realized that it was warmer than anticipated. One of my girlfriends was brave enough to hike most of the mountain in her underwear. I must admit, I would have done the same but I’m not as fit and young as her. the snowy conditions on the last 3 miles to the peak made it difficult to see the trail (crampons is a must) luckily we came across a couple of hikers that showed us the way. We briefly celebrated our accomplishment realizing that we were running of daylight. Quickly we started descending after loosing our tracks twice and 10 hrs after we had hiked 17 miles!
