Peak Mt Wilson
Group Hiking for Health and Happiness (3H)
Trailhead Chantry Flats

Since 2013, this was my fifth time up Mt. Wilson and out of the five times, only the second time I’ve done this peak from Chantry Flats (the other three times was on the Old Mt. Wilson Trail from Sierra Madre). First hike of the Six-Pack for 2017, we started on time from the parking lot while it was still somewhat dark and headlights were useful though not really necessary. After heading down and crossing the bridge on Winter Creek, some pre-hike instructions were given about the hike and then it was on. We went up the loop above Sturtevant Falls and followed the trail to the mountain. The weather was just about right and the group pace, while fast was doable. The other five peaks were visible from the summit on the east side where the iron railing is with the benchmark. The Cosmic Cafe was still closed however hot drinks were available there. Went down towards Manzanita Ridge and down on the trail and came down to the parking lot via Upper Winter Creek Trail. As usual for the 3H, we gave each other a high-five at the end of the trail as each hiker came down finishing the peak. Looking forward to Cucamonga Peak
