Peak Mt Baldy

Trailhead Manker Flats

Today we completed Mt. Baldy in 7 hours! What an accomplishment! The hike was beautiful and very much exhausting. We started at Manker Flats, going up to Baldy Notch then hiking through the Devil’s Backbone to the summit. The views from the top were breathtaking. There was a lot of people at the summit, which was good and bad. Good because there was plenty of people to ask to take our pictures and for trail advice, and bad because all the good spots to rest at the summit were taken 🙁 We descended on Ski Hut trail for a change of scenery which was a brilliant idea. There was more shade on this path than on our ascend, but the trail was really slippery- rocks, dirt and loose gravel- (trekking poles will not save you from falling… trust me) Overall I really enjoyed it. The Devil’s Backbone is MUST!
