After I had to scrap my earlier planned overnighter at West Fork CG, I decided I’d try a route I’d never done before. Arrived at the Chantry Flat trailhead around 7:30AM (approx 7 cars). Headed down to Sturtevant falls, water still flowing nicely. Then headed up the Upper Falls trail to Spruce Grove CG, the outhouses were swarmed with bees and we also picked up a swarm of black flies that stayed with us all the way to the Cosmic Cafe 😤. It was a tough slog up and that “halfway” sign sure didn’t match up with my gps’s mileage. Stopped up at the Cosmic Cafe to rest, fill up on H2O, and enjoy? the mariachi music. Headed down the old toll road to Winter Creek (also still flowing nicely), checked out Hoegee CG, followed the creek trail back to the bridge, then back Uuuuuup. Lots of people enjoying the afternoon.
