Where shall I start? This hike, while beautiful, kicked my butt in so many ways!! The altitude is nothing to joke about. It was dark at the end of my hike. I had a headlamp, but glimpsed two green eyes looking at me from below the trail. All I could think of was mountain lions after seeing that video of those two guys in Sequoia. Luckily, it was only a deer. That and the scary tree make me think this trail might be haunted.
Oh yeah, wear long pants! There are some overgrown bushes for a section around the halfway point. They have thorns!
