#HikeBeyondTheHills 3rd year in a row for the Six Pack Of Peaks Challenge. Climbed our first 2017 peak, Mt. Wilson, via a different route through Sierra Madre. This was an exploratory 15-mile hike which was technical and challenging, with 6,000′ cumulative elevation gain, summiting 3 peaks total – Jones Peak, Hastings Peak and Mt. Wilson. This was a loop hike, ascending via Bailey Canyon to Jones Peak, then on to a rollercoaster ridge which included a 40% vertical climb on a chute to Mt. Wilson Toll Road. We descended on the beautiful Mt. Wilson Trail, and due to all the rain, it was reminiscent of a Pacific Northwest trail.
