Peak Mt Wilson
Group With brother Alex, and friend Daniel
Trailhead Chantry Flat/First Water Trail

Record breaking heat, although the trail from chantry flat through the Sturtevant Trail was covered in shade up until slightly before Echo Rock where I had to hike with the sun and very little shade. Other than the conditions were good, ran out of water right before hitting the peak so I had to hustle for the last mile up the mountain. Great hike, not as much bugs as I was expecting when I came a month ago to visit the observatory. Had two run back down to chantry where my brothers truck was parked, as he and my buddy were too exhausted to make it back down the mountain. It took me a little over three hours (3:15) hiking the trail up, including the time we took a detour from the Sturtevant Falls (first time hitting this trail). And It took me two hours running it back down from the Peak to chantry. I have the blisters to prove it. It was a great hike, and I celebrated with a few modelos with my brother, friend and the three ladies we took back to their vehicle from also being too tried to hike back. Peak # 1 Done …… onto # 2.

  1. Glad to know that you all made it off the mountain safely, especially given the extreme heat. Awesome job Jaime!!! Hope you enjoy the rest of the peaks!!!
