Mt Wilson Challenge #1

I chose this trail as an alternative due to a road closure that prevented me from reaching my original destination. The trail was amazing even with the amount of people hiking. The weather was perfect and the trail was in good condition with the exception of a couple of fallen trees, but nothing too hard to navigate around.

The trail passes a couple of old camps that were used back in the 1900s bit little remains of them. They made a great spot to take a break and enjoy the creek. I ran into a little bit of snow on the summit but nothing that requires any special gear. I was especially amazed with the views from the peak. Even though it wasn’t a clear day I could still see a good distance and the views of the other peaks were amazing! They have a good amount of snow on them. I hiked a total distance of 14.2 miles and it took me 5 hours 25 minutes to complete.

All together I feel this was a great alternative to the original.
