While I’d say that the 6-Pack was mostly a success, I’m left wondering about the inclusion of this peak.
We took the Mt. Wilson Trailhead as opposed to the Chantry Flats route and the trail was pretty interesting during the first half or so. Roughly 3/4th of the way to the top, the trail turned into a fire road. As you can imagine, this is much less interesting terrain, but OK. Lots of trails have fire-roads and that’s not uncommon. The issue I have is the summit. After toiling for hours and many miles, you finally reach the summit to find……..a parking lot.
Yep. The summit is a flat parking lot with antenna towers, a restaurant, and no view to speak of. There’s no sense of accomplishment and I have to say I would never voluntarily consider this hike again.
