Peak Mt Wilson
Group N/A
Trailhead Chantry Flats

Mount Wilson started off okay. The parking lot was quite crowded when we got there, even though we tried to make an early start. After the first mile or so we veered off to visit the waterfall, which was lovely. Then we ventured off to the peak. It was a hot day and because this was our first hike of the challenge, it seemed endless. By the time we finally reached the peak, we were exhausted. Truth be told, I was a little disappointed when we got to the top by the view. I had read about the cafe at the top of the mountain and it was a little off-putting for me. The view wasn’t the most incredible, but it was nice to be done. On the way down we went down the different trailhead, not Chantry Flats. On the way down we ran into a few people who had told us they’d seen a bear and a bobcat, but that neither animal seemed to be bothered by people and could care less that we were all there. My friend and I were on full alert for the last few miles, but we didn’t run into any wild animals.
