The hike to Mt. Wilson was better this year than last year. Last year I had to take a different route because Chantry Flats was closed due to a fire. The hike via Chantry Flats made the hike alot more bearable. The trail was very shaded for a good 75% of it until you reach the checkpoint where you’re only a few miles away. The flies did come back to haunt me but luckily I had insect repellent. I actually realized that I went the wrong way the first time when I reached the peak. I went around but this time because I saw people going a certain direction, I followed them and showed me the right path to reach the summit. The views were amazing and the hike down went smoothly and was happy that I even got to pass by Stutervant Falls.
