Trailhead Chantry Flat

This hike would be the test to see to see if I’d be able to really attempt the challenge. The weather was perfect. Low 60’s in the morning and only got up to maybe 74 in the afternoon with clear skies and a fair breeze most of the day. The whole hike took 8.5 hours, but that included several times I had to reconnoiter the route, and an hour goofing off at the observatory. During the asscent only saw one person early on. On the way down met three people in the first mile, and not another soul until down into the Hoegee Campground. Only disappointment was the Cosmic Cafe was closed. Overall it was challenging hike, but didn’t kill me. I think the challenge is doable.
