Trailhead | Mt Wilson Trail |
The road to chantry flats was out due to rain the previous week. But we were determined to summit Mount Wilson. Because we are prepared hikers we had a map and found the next closest trailhead to be Mount Wilson trail. We found the trail to be very well-kept. The hike to the peak although the same distance as the route from chantry flats added almost 1000 feet of elevation making it extremely strenuous. The view of the LA basin from above the clouds was well worth it. There was even free (for a donation) coffee and hot cocoa at the snack bar.
Intense! The Mt Wilson Trail is a great challenge. I’ve taken that route exactly once.
Don’t you love it when you’re up above the clouds?
Jeff,
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, the new way to log hikes and view other hiker’s logged hikes. I appreciate that it appears you’re commenting on all logged hikes so far. This is truly a labor of love for you. I read in a post from about a year ago someone who wanted to upgrade their registration. I’d like to if you’re able. I just wanted to get the initial start up going. If not I may purchase either explorer or trailblazer as a gift. The benefits look amazing. Thanks for all you do! Is there a way to log Non 6 pack peaks hikes? I’m thinking of hiking Ontario and definitely Catalina this year.
Thanks for the kind words, Dean! Yes, it’s truly a labor of love, and yes, I’m sure we can figure out an upgrade when you’re ready.
We’re working on a way to log non-six-pack hikes, too. We want to make sure the system is rock-solid before we expand, but later this year. 😉
