It was a leisurely traipse through the wooded hills of Santa Anita on a quiet Thursday morning and Spring was in the air.

A California miner’s meal of lettuce and manzanita would do for the days hike.

It was the same little white dome I’d seen on the ridgeline day after day of driving the 210 West but now only much bigger.

3 stories in fact, of stairs which led one into the viewing room of the ancient telescope that craned up and out of the blindingly white dome.
