Peak Mt Baldy
Group N/A
Trailhead Baldy Bowl - Sky Hut Trail

It was a hot day and the trail did not provide much shade as we took the steep incline route to the peak and came back down via devil’s backbone. It was a clear day and the trail was crowded. The path up the peak was similar to Mt. Wilson in that the trail was a tough constant incline. It was comforting to know that we were not alone in feeling exhausted and tired as fellow hikers around us appeared the same. We were grateful for any wind that blew by us which was not often.

Although the peak was beautiful, we were not able to rest and hang out long because of all the bugs attacking us. The loose rocks and gravel through most of the trail made it difficult to get down quick and made us more exhausted and sore. We rested at the ski lodge and refilled our water before heading down the trail to our car. The views were beautiful but I do not think I will be hiking this trail anytime soon. It may be the toughest trail in this challenge.
