Mt Baldy is my favorite hike in the area. We tried to avoid the giant slope right after the ski lodge, but ended up doing a slightly less intense slope anyway. The key is to swing right where the trail forks after the lodge. It’ll be 3 different paths, the left being a less intense slope, the middle the most difficult and the right is a gently rising set of switchbacks that gets you there without killing you. Fun times, great weather!
