Well peak #1 of the 2017 Six-Pack Of Peaks is complete.
This hike was a change of pace from the usual trails leading to Mount Wilson. Getting there via Jones and Hastings Peaks was a challenge in that you are constantly ascending and descending steep sections of the trail. The trail is narrow once you pass Jones Saddle and is exposed to the sun once you leave Bailey Canyon which makes it a tough hike on hot days. The temps were in the mid to high 80s but we started at 6am and we came down the Mount Wilson Trail so it wasn’t to bad. Their was a steep section about 400 feet from the Mount Wilson Toll Road but other than that the hike wasn’t that bad.
