Very nice hike up to the summit with cool weather and running water noises most of the way. The summit was foggy and freezing cold and started to rain as we got there. We went inside the visitor gallery of the 100 inch telescope to warm up (3 flight of stairs as if we hadn’t climbed enough). By the time we started the decend, rain turned to sleet. It was so foggy we could barely see 5 feet in front of us. We found the return trail with the help of some local trail runners. It rained all the way down until we got back to the car. Sun came out as we were pulling out of Chantry Flats parking lot. We have to go back to see the views on a clear day.
