Peak Mt Wilson
Group I was suppose to! 😉
Trailhead Old Mount Wilson Trail

Beautiful morning for a hike! Weather was just right, just under 50 degrees and cloudy at the start. I was suppose to do this hike with a meetup group. I arrived at about 0610. There was a good sized group taking pictures and getting ready to step off. I assumed they were the group I was suppose to hike with. Long story short, about a mile in, I realized I was with the wrong group. Oops! As I separated myself from this group (they were a little slow for me), I began hiking with a Hispanic kid. Maybe in his 20’s. He didn’t speak English and I don’t speak Spanish, so we just hiked fast and stopped every once in a while to enjoy the awesome views. At the peak I realized that his friends from the other group had all his food, so I shared some of mine. We ate then I headed down. The first few miles of the hike were under thick clouds, but once we cleared them the views were spectacular. At the peak, there was still some patches of ice and snow. This hike ended up being right around 15 miles with an elevation gain of 4927′.
