Peak Mt Wilson

Trailhead Chantry Flat

It was a hard but worthwhile hike. We started off where the waterfall was and took that way up. We started at 5am and it was very shady so we didn’t really feel the heat even though it was a very hot day. We were able to stay on track and keep moving up until the last two miles. The hike got steeper in the last two miles making us take multiple breaks. We finally made it to the top at about 11:45am.

We sat at the cafe and rested for about an hour and a half. Then we began our journey down taking the “shortest” way down.

We finally made it back to the car about 5pm. The hike took us about 11 hours but it was well worth it. We would recommend bringing plenty of water and insect repellant. I drank about 5 liters of water and unfortunately was bit by the mosquitos on my arms and legs. However, overall we enjoyed the hike and challenge of it.
