Trailhead Chantry Flats

Holy cow that was crazy! After some major confusion thanks to bad directions we finally were able to start the hike 2-hours later than we intended. We also realized a mile and a half too late that we should’ve made that left at Albuquerque. What I mean by that is that the first fork on the way down, the GPS on my buddy’s watch had us turn the wrong direction and we hiked down the wrong trail which added to our distance. All-in-all, we ended up making this a 19-mile hike! Nonetheless, it was an unbelievable trip. I’ve done this hike in the past, via the Sierra Madre trail. Although the Chantry Flats trail is much more difficult (especially the last three miles to the peak), it was also much more scenic. Looking forward to hitting the next trail on the list!
