lonely at the top?

With the heat wave we had decided on an early start. I knew it was going to be a great day when we were greeted at Manker Campground by Stellar’s Jays (love them). From there we headed up to Baldy Notch where we found relatively clean restrooms and water. The devil’s backbone offered beautiful views that just got more awesome at the peak. After a quick snack and plenty of photos we headed down toward Baldy Bowl & the ski hut where we took the opportunity to soak our feet in the steam. The weather was perfect, although started getting a little warm toward the end. Thankfully we had taken plenty of water and sunscreen as most of the trail is exposed.
