Peak Mt Wilson
Group I started out solo, thinking the trail would be busy enough that I wouldn't really be alone. Met the nicest of people toward the top in the last mile off Sturtevant Camp Trail.
Trailhead Started with the lower trail that went through Sturtevant Falls.

I was super excited to finally embark on the first Six Pack of Peaks. Arrived at 630 a.m. and found a parking spot at Park Station with no problem. Felt I had a good, smooth pace going down from the parking lot into the falls canyon and looped through the cabins. Beautiful. Just beautiful, especially in the morning light. Enjoyed the forest and trees, and many creek crossings. The trails were filled with single hikers, families and young couples. Most zipped passed me as I wanted to keep a moderate pace for the inclines I knew were coming. After leaving Sturtevant historic camp, I hit the switchbacks. They were no joke! Very true to form as I read on other posts and blogs. Slowed me way down. This was my first elevation hike. It caught me off guard. When I hit the Halfway Up sign, I felt motivated but soon hit a wall. Stopped many times and thought about giving up. Everyone who passed me going up or down, said “Don’t give up. You are almost there.” Wanted to be at the top by noon. Finally made it about 130 p.m. with the encouragement of a couple Trail Angels I met. Saw a few other hikers with their patches and Six Pack shirts. Smiled knowing we all have our own journey. If I do it again, I would definitely start with the Chantry Flat trail and take the switchbacks down through Sturtevant Falls.
