Peak Cucamonga Peak
Group Friends and cousin
Trailhead Icehouse Canyon

This hike was beautiful. It was hot but luckily the wind was cool, which provided some relief! The first part of the hike was crowded but once we got to the saddle and headed toward Cucamonga, we lost a lot of that. It was nice to feel a little more secluded and to just hear the wind rushing through the trees. Our spirits were high until about 30 minutes from the peak…my energy tanked and the trail was steep at that point. We eventually made it (taking lots of breaks!) and ate lunch on the top with amazing views. The altitude got to me because I lost my appetite, but managed to eat half a sandwich. After taking pictures we headed down the mountain, and by that point there were hardly any groups left hiking around. The last hour on the hike down was a little miserable for me…let’s just say I’m ordering hiking poles for the next adventure. All in all – if I would do this hike again, I would consider backpacking and camping on the top. Great hike but I got a little exhausted!!
