Peak Mt Wilson
Group N/A
Trailhead Chantry Flats

Tried this hike 2 weeks ago and went on the wrong trail. Ended up having to turn back after doing Mt. Zion first and getting halfway up Wilson too late in the day…However, second time seemed to be a charm as I went on the right trail this time! After hiking fairly religiously for the last several years I have to say that this hike was VERY humbling. One of the toughest trails I’ve done to date but I didn’t give up and I made it. Got some great shots to boot. I ended up deciding to go back the way I came up and at that point the fog had settled in pretty heavily. Being a solo hike, this made it so much creepier walking through the woods in dense fog by my lonesome with no sound but the ol’ bear bell. All in all was a good hike. On to the next peak!!

  1. Great that you made the summit Matt! I fully could relate with your experience walking the trails through fog & clouds… had several such solo hikes that literally made me feel like I was in some horror flick… Lol…
