I kept putting this one off because of the heat wave. Sure enough, this was the least fun hike in the 6-pack. Visited Sturtevant Falls and then back tracked to the Gabrielino Trail to Sturtevant Camp and on up to the summit. Hiked most of the trail with a bug net on my head. Shed my pant legs and shirt around Sturtevant Camp, and pretty much sweltered to the top. Of course the Cosmos Cafe was closed so there was no pie reward at the peak (good thing I had packed a lunch). Water is available again at the peak so I topped off. The return trip down Winter Creek and Upper Winter Creek trails was quick with very little other traffic. Got to the car, soaked in sweat. Fortunately I had a change of clothes for the drive home.
