Great hike today with Hike Beyond the Hills and a few new faces. 12 miles and over 4100′ in elevation gain. The weather and the trails were perfect. Just a couple snow/icy areas that were easy to either traverse or go around. No micro spikes needed. Poles recommended. Wind at the peak was only about 10 miles an hour. Of course conditions will change drastically with the storm rolling in tonight and Sunday. We had clear skies at the peak and temps in the upper 30s to low 40s. We had a few drizzle heading down and the rain started as we were getting in our vehicle to head home. Great day with great people! Unfortunately (or fortunately) this does not meet my goal to hike the six pack of peaks from alternate trailhead. I plan to go back and summit Cucamonga from the Middle Fork Trail later this year.
