Peak Cucamonga Peak
Group hiking solo on this one
Trailhead icehouse canyon trailhead

After such a grumpy experience on my second peak, I needed some time away. I was serious about this challenge and I wanted to complete it, but I also wanted to be happy doing it! After seeing the amount of hikers also trying to complete the challenge, and how busy the trails were, I made the decision that I would go ahead and do Cucamonga Peak solo (I didn’t not make this decision lightly). I love to hike on my own, but do also weigh the risks of doing so, not just as a hiker, but as a woman. You never know what’s going to happen on the trail. I needed the time away and felt like it was safe enough for me to do so. I took this hike at my pace, and just lost myself into the mountains. I did keep pace with a couple of other hikers which was a bit reassuring knowing they were next to me! It was a still a HOT summer day, but man it was a great experience!! Beautiful hike, and it felt soo good to hold that summit sign in my hand! It was a good day!
