BRING A MOSQUITO NET HAT! Tons of bugs, hot as hell, more bugs, very stupidly left mosquito net in front seat of car. Don’t be stubborn like me, just bring it. This hike isn’t too steep until about the last 1.5mi but even leaving early in the day (around 7:15am), it gets extremely hot midday. Thankfully you can refill your water and use the bathroom at the top of Mt. Wilson. The only part I found to be especially scenic was from Chantry Flats to Spruce Grove campground. Then the scenery becomes fairly bland and uniform. Per Jeff’s suggestion, I hiked the Lower Creek Trail. Also, this trail is fairly busy. Even arriving at 7am I had to park on the street so be sure to come early and bring a mosquito net!
