Peak Mt Wilson
Group N/A
Trailhead Chantry Flats

Of course, the parking lot was full by 6:30, but found a spot along the road near Adam’s Pack Station. The weather was nice, cool, and misty, with not a stitch of wind. Perfect hiking weather!

Took Gabrielino Trail to Sturtevant Falls. Great water flow at the falls. Then hiked Sturtevant Trail to Sturtevant camp. I drank some coffee, swung on the swing, and lied down on the hammock! It’s tough being a hiker, isn’t it?!! Haha!

Soon it was time to hit the trail again, and the dreaded switchbacks to the summit. I thoroughly enjoyed feeling the mist on my face, while I was sweating profusely, and breathing heavy, hoofing it up the mountain…”I think I can! I think I can!” 😉 I don’t know about you, but I love the feeling of burning quads, pumping heart, and the exhilaration of getting closer to the summit! WhooHoo! I finally made it to the summit and hugged the Mt. Wilson Trail sign in happiness and sweet success!

After a quick bite to eat, it was time to make my way down via Upper Winter Creek Trail to Adam’s Pack Station for a much deserved beer!

First peak down…Five to go!!! 2017 Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge! Yeah baby!!!
