Arrived at Chantry Flats at 7am to a full parking lot, and found a safe spot to park 1/4 mile down the mountain. Began the hike at 7:15, and bumped into Deb from Adams’ Pack Station, coming down the mountain from her morning hike. Sturtevant Falls are flowing and the trails are in great shape! The gnats however are another story. They began to swarm around Spruce Grove Campground and were with us the rest of the trip. We put on bug nets and had a pleasant hike. The Cosmic Cafe and restrooms are open at the top, and the water refill stations are turned on. The trip down was pleasant- lots of shade on the Winter Creek Trail. We stopped by Adams’ Pack Station and had an ice cream, watched the ukelele band for a few minutes and then said so long to Deb before heading back to the car.
