As the snow levels have come down at Baldy my friend and I decided it was time to make our way up there – the hard way. Started at Baldy village and made our way up via Bear Flat camp and West Baldy until after ~6.5miles and ~6,000ft we finally reached Mt Baldy! There is still quite a bit of snow on the trail as of about 9,000ft but trail can be ‘easily’ followed in most sections. Because I still had energy left, I decided to run/hike down the same way. Took me about 1/3 the time it took us to get up. Made it back to the car and up to Manker Flats before my friend had made it down Ski Hut trail 😀 Perfect Sunday outing.
