Sunny and beautiful day. Late start around 8:30, summited around 11:00. Lots of people camping at the first campground. No snow on trail, however snow completely covered the summit with the exception of parking lot. I would recommend doing this hike now as the stream is running full blast with lots of water crossings and water falls. There is no water at the summit, so either bring plenty, a water filter or top off at Sturtevant camp water fountain. Also, new sign at Mt Wilson trail entrance off main parking lot stating trail is closed due to damaged trail.
Ah, sounds like the snow is disappearing quickly! Love seeing those creeks running strong. Makes the water crossings so much more fun. 🙂
Jeff, starting to love this trail, especially as a training hike for HST later in the year. Scenery is awesome and all the water is great. Fantastic camp ground if you want to make it an overnight trip about 2/3’s way up, right before the trail decides to make you work a little bit!
