Trailhead Icehouse Trailhead

The day was predicted to be HOT, so we started early, hitting the trail at 7:10. The temp was only 69F when we started. We stayed in the shade almost all the way up the hill, and we stayed ahead of the heat wave as we gained altitude. We even managed to be in the shade of Cucamonga as we did the switchbacks, so it was never too hot. We made the peak and the weather was perfect and we had lots of energy and had a lot of fun at the top. A few people at the top and everyone was cheery. On the way down we decided to visit Timber Mtn ridge to have a great view of Icehouse Canyon and enjoy the peaceful day. Oddly, Icehouse Saddle was EMPTY at 1:30PM on a Sunday, something that is quite rare during the summer, but we figured that most casual hikers were scared off by the heat.
