We started around 6:45 a.m. because we wanted to get as much of the climb done as possible before the sun got too high. We averaged 30 minute miles for the whole hike. The trail was in good conditions, there was some snow on the side towards the top. We saw several tree stumps COVERED in ladybugs. More ladybugs than I’ve ever seen in one spot. We also saw a rattlesnake in the last half mile of the trail.
