Trailhead Icehouse Canyon

My cousins and I got there early morning on a Sunday. Because it was the weekend parking in the trailhead was packed. I forgot how cold it gets even in April. The trail at first wasn’t as exposed so the shade made everything really cool. I didn’t start to feel it until the switchbacks to reach halfway to the peak. My cousins and I took a break for a bit and right when we started heading to the peak, there were still patches of snow. Getting up was a struggle, the snow was slippery so every step was proceeded with caution. The snow made the trail that much more difficult to find and we ended up taking more time to reach up the peak. When we made it however, the views of the IE were beautiful. Coming down was another story, especially since the snow had us worried. One wrong step could mean our lives, but with help of each other, we got out safely and Lucielles BBQ right after never tasted so good.
