Trailhead Icehouse Canyon Trail

We started our hike around 6 am which was perfect timing to get parking and a permit to begin our hike. Most of the beginning of the trail is shaded which was a pleasant start to our hike. There are plenty of places to fill up for water, although we didn’t need to. I brought my 3L pack and it was more than enough. There are some cool ruins to look at on the side of the trail. There are plenty of signs that keep you on the right track. I don’t quite remember at what mile there is a really cool old mine shaft. We went in for a little adventure and it was worth it. We didn’t have flashlights but our phone’s flashlight was enough to see inside (plus it was really nice and cool inside!) the downside is that a lot of people have used this mine as a restroom… 🙁 We had heard that there was an American flag somewhere close to the summit but we couldn’t find it. But views from the summit were beautiful. There are plenty of rocks to get really nice photos.
