Trailhead Icehouse Canyon

Cucamonga Peak is definitely one of my favorite trails in SoCal! Although I wanted to do the Six pack of Peaks in order, this one had to be pushed back a bit as the snow conditions at the summit were still out of my comfort range for a while. The day I went was absolutely magical. I could spend hours just playing around in the ice house canyon. The water was flowing so well after all of the snow fall this year. After passing through the canyon, I had to stay mindful of applying sunscreen, and drinking plenty of water as the sky was very clear and I was under alot of direct sunlight. I did start to get a headache, so I slowed down and took more breaks to make sure it wasn’t something that I should turn back for. I decided to keep going as the symptoms never became worse, nor did I feel nauseous at any point. Once I reached the summit, there were several hikers hanging out so we all had great conversation before headed back down. I was able to get back to Ice House canyon with a little time to spare before sun down, so I observed busy squirrels, and TONS of ladybugs hanging around the area. I may or may not have also dreamed I owned one of those cute cabins. Don’t we all?! 😉
