Trailhead Icehouse Canyon

Perfect day for a perfect hike! I ended up cramping the last 800 ft climb. The hike is very steep in some parts and the last 1.5 miles is a 1,000 ft elevation gain! Killer! I only went through about 1 liter of water and a bottle of Gatorade. I also only brought a light jacket and wore it for about an hour and then never put it on again. We made it to the summit in 4 hours. We finished in 7 hours including lunch at the top.
Couple of suggestions:
-mosquitoes, lady bugs, and flies are everywhere, bring bug spray.
-hiking poles probably saved my life😂. If you have them, bring them.
-start early! We got there at 6:30am and the parking lot was almost full. I would say 6am is the best time.
