6am start from Humber Park. Got our permits the day before. San Jacinto Ranger Station gives out 5 weekend permits at 4pm on Friday or else you can’t get a permit until 8am on Saturday. Amazing fern growth on one part of the trail. Kind of hazy but one direction you can see desert and the other pines and greenery.
